School Council

The School Council consists of two representatives from each class. The representatives stand for election and are voted in by the rest of the class.

We change representatives each year.

Sometimes issues are raised by the Teacher leading the Council, and sometimes agendas are led by the children.

Children discuss issues in class councils and report views of the whole class back in the School Council; likewise they discuss issues brought up in school council meetings back to their class.

Member and staff are asked for opinions also or may be asked to attend meetings that are relevant to them.

School Council have led assemblies and introduced activities and ideas to the rest of the school.

This is an excellent arena for children to voice their opinions and lead changes and initiatives throughout the school. Sometime issues are raised that have not been apparent to adults in the school, so it serves as an essential forum for children to voice their views.
